Hello! Thank you for taking the time to find out more about me. I am a writer at heart and would-be published writer. I am also mummy to a gorgeous toddler, wife to a gorgeous husband and travel person extraordinaire. I have lived abroad at times but am now settled in the south-east of England.
I have been researching my family history and find that a lot of my inspiration comes from events/people who I have found from years gone by. We have a lot of sea-faring people in our family so a lot of my stories are based on or near the coast. I also have a love of crime/detective fiction so again there is usually an element of this involved. My other great love is a cheesy musical on a Sunday afternoon so I guess that the whole happy ending thing comes from there.
People fascinate me, particularly people from history and how they lived. I love watching people too (preferably from a nice Italian cafe in a piazza somewhere). People’s relationships with books is intriguing and how they relate to the characters – especially younger readers.
About Books or Kindle?
As a bookshop owner in a previous life I always swore that I would never own a Kindle. I love the feeling of being in a bookshop and feeling the pages turn and seeing the bright covers. But then, my beloved husband bought me a Kindle and I haven’t looked back. I love the fact that you can carry it around with thousands of books on it. I love the fact that you can read it outside in the sunshine. It will never replace a book but it is a great invention for one who travels and lives in the modern world. I still like reading an actual book too though!
